Gen began dancing at the age of 5, at Mrs. Demers' Dance Studio in Concord.  From
junior high through high school, she continued to study at Sally Zyla's Dance Studio
in Manchester.  While still in high school, Gen was selected to perform at the World's
Fair in New York, for two consecutive summers.  

Gen's Dance Studio was founded in 1969.  For the first 35 years, the dance studio was
located at 288 North State Street, Concord.  In the fall of 2004, the studio moved to its
new location at 117 Manchester Street, Suite C, in the Pine Inn Plaza, Concord.   Now
in its 46th season, the studio offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and
Tumbling.   Gen's Dance Studio's Competition Team was formed and began
competing in the beginning of 1993, and has won numerous regional and national
awards over the years.  

In 1995, Gen assumed the position of State Chairman for the New Hampshire's Junior
Miss Scholarship Competition, a position she held until 2004.

Gen has been married to her husband, Chuck, for 45 years, and has three wonderful
sons, Jeffrey, Jeremy, and Jamie.  Oldest son Jeff is his father's business partner, and
co-owner of Woodward and Sons Construction.   Jeremy is the owner of Jeremy's Boot
Camp, located at 153 Manchester Street, Suites 3 and 4, Concord.  He and his wife,
Brook, have two beautiful daughters, Elliana and Bryn.   Jamie, the youngest son, is
the manager of two branches of Woodforest National Bank.  He and his wife, Lea, live
in North Carolina with their beautiful daughters, Steele Loren and Cayton Ashleigh.
